Castrol DEF is a high quality aqueous urea solution conforming to ISO 22241 specifications. Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF) is used as a consumable in vehicles fitted with selective catalytic reduction (SCR) after-treatment device, in order to lower NOx concentration in the exhaust emissions from diesel engines.
